Competitive Teams are by teacher invitation. Contact us if interested. Dancers are expected to maintain consistent attendance, as more than three absences may affect their placement in the group. Team members participate in three mandatory competitions each season, and competitive fees and costume fees are collected through Plan A. These classes include your competitive Jazz and Contemporary/Lyrical routines

Contemporary (MQ) 1

A class that focuses on contemporary and modern dance movement qualities. This class will be a fusion of exploration and creation through improvisation, floor work, balance, across the floor and partnering and is encouraged to those dancers on our Sunday teams.

Primary Jazz

This technical class follows the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association syllabus for Primary Jazz. Dancers will explore barre, terminology, across-the-floor exercises, technical combinations and choreography. Students who demonstrate strong progress may be offered the opportunity to take exams in the spring.

Tumbling I

This class is perfect for beginner movers ages 4–6 who want to explore the fundamentals of tumbling and acro in a safe and supportive environment. Using our gymnastics equipment, tumblers will learn basic skills that build a strong foundation, improve body awareness, and boost confidence—all while having fun and staying active.

Tumbling 2/3

Designed for beginner to advanced tumblers ages 7+, this class focuses on refining and perfecting acro and tumbling skills in a structured environment. Dancers will build strength, technique, and confidence while working on new challenges and exciting skills.

This workshop-style class is open to dancers ages 8+ of all levels. Beginners looking to be challenged and advanced dancers wanting to expand their hip hop skills and work on groove will both find opportunities to grow. Each week, dancers will explore the fusion of hip hop and jazz, while building new skills to widen their dance vocabulary. Every class features a fresh choreography combination, until second term when the recital choreography is created and rehearsed.

Hip Hop Junior

Get grounded, get grooving, and have fun! Junior Hip Hop is designed for dancers ages 5–9 and introduces the foundations of hip hop in an exciting, age-appropriate way. In term one, dancers will learn a variety of fun routines, and in term two, they’ll focus on preparing a recital piece to perform on stage—all while gaining an understanding of hip hop’s roots.
